Fall is my favorite season for so many reasons—colorful leaves, crisp air, vivid blue skies, fun autumn traditions, delicious flavors, and cozy smells. Ah, the smells! Today I’m sharing 5 DIY fall essential oil recipes for your diffuser that will instantly bring to mind your favorite fall-time memories!
Sometimes, all it takes is a single whiff to bring memories flooding back.
When I was a girl, we sometimes took October road trips to the Appalachian mountains. We were desperate for a change from Florida’s heat and humidity!
On one such trip, we stopped at a small apple stand on the side of the road at the height of apple season. The moment we opened the door and stepped inside that little building, I was in heaven.
I had never experienced such a beautiful smell in all my life! I breathed in the most intense, sugary-sweet aroma imaginable. The apple smell was almost other-worldly.
Boxes of ripe apples lined the walls of the rustic room. Dozens of varieties were for sale, boasting gorgeous shades of red, orange, yellow, and green—mirroring the changing leaves outside.
I wanted to stay forever!
That happy childhood memory has stuck with me for many years, and it’s because of that incredible aroma.
Similarly, nutmeg reminds me of North Carolina shops in the mountains, with creaky wooden floorboards and artfully arranged displays.
Cinnamon calls to mind warm mugs of steamy apple cider sipped with friends at fall gatherings.
Our sense of smell is such a gift!

Where to Buy Quality, Affordable Essential Oils
I have many friends who sell essential oils through Young Living and Doterra. I love that my friends are able to create income for their families through these companies—it’s fantastic!
And while I like both of those brands (and have some of their oils in my collection from gifts), I choose to purchase my essential oils through Edens Garden.
I have been so impressed by Edens Garden’s essential oils! The quality is just as high, but the prices are much, much lower because they sell direct-to-consumer.
They’re the reason we’re able to afford high-quality essential oils on a tight budget, and for that, I’m very thankful.
Edens Garden essential oils are 100% therapeutic grade, and are third party tested. In fact, the current GC/ MS report is available for their customers to view on each oil’s product page.
Plus, they offer free shipping on all orders, which is awesome, especially when I only need to place a small order.
I trust Edens Garden, and it takes a lot for me to put my trust in a company—especially a health-related one!
(NOTE: I realize that this can be a controversial subject because many people are brand loyal when it comes to essential oils, especially if they sell for a particular company. However, I’ve spent a lot of time reading and researching quality essential oil companies, and am convinced that Edens Garden is one of the best! 🙂
Money-saving Bonus Tip
Here’s a bonus tip that I’m always taking advantage of on Edens Garden…
You can buy a “Create Your Own” 2-oil set for just $14.95 with free shipping! You can choose from a long list of essential oils (single oils + blends—including some oils mentioned in this post), and you’ll receive two 10mL bottles packaged in an adorable little box.
These sets also make awesome gifts, especially with the lovely packaging!
(Also, their Peru balsam oil is one of my favorites. It has a sweet vanilla scent and blends well with so many different oils!)
