I’m still playing catch-up, so this photo was taken 2 weeks ago today at 8 weeks. The first couple of weeks seemed to last a month, as I was trying to adjust to the reality of being pregnant! The last month, however, has seemed more like 2 weeks.
It’s funny how your sense of time changes when your perspective shifts!
8 Weeks
Dear little sweet pea,
It’s amazing that you’ve been with us for 2 whole months already. And to think- you’ve already visited 5 states and traveled 4,800 miles! Maybe you’ll be the adventurous explorer type- or maybe not.
We got to see your cute little blueberry self when you were just 7 weeks and 1 day, and your heartbeat was good and strong. You were exactly where you were supposed to be, so good job there! And while we didn’t get to hear your heartbeat because it was so early, we did get to watch your heart fluttering away on the ultrasound screen. It was such a beautiful sight, little one. Daddy and I had big silly grins spread across our faces the entire time. At the end, the tech gave us your very first photo, which we excitedly hung on our refrigerator.
Mama’s morning sickness is mostly gone, but I still have plenty of food aversions to speak of. And I can’t get enough in the way of sweet treats (mostly because I’m not able to have many), which makes me wonder if you’ll have the a sweet tooth- or three- like I do…
Our love for you continues to grow, baby, and we can’t wait to find out if you’re a little girl or boy. I strongly believe you’re a girl, and have from the minute I found out we were expecting you, but I’m sure you’ll forgive me if I’m wrong. Only 12 more weeks until we find out!
Dear Lauren, what amazing news! Congratulations to you and Benjamin! Having been on this journey so recently, my heart goes out to you, and I pray earnestly for you. We had our own sweet baby girl almost 6 Weeks ago, and there were a lot of difficult days being pregnant, and now having a little baby. But the Lord has entrusted us with this precious gift, even knowing our shortcomings, and it drives us all the more to seek His strength. Look to Him faithfully, especially on the EASY days, that you may have a full store of strength for the hard ones.
A quick note: we announced our pregnancy to our families with “bun in the oven” pictures! So fun!
Sweet picture of you and your little ‘bun.’ Look forward to hearing whether it’s a boy or girl. Glad the morning sickness is starting to subside.
